Dissertation Topic: The impact of families' perceptions of service adequacy on family quality of life for families of children who are deafblind
Dissertation Advisor: Dr. Ann Turnbull
Interests:
In general, I am interested in understanding the impact of services on family quality of life for families of children with disabilities. I am currently working on my dissertation in which I am surveying families of children who are deafblind to understand how services (e.g., education, health, related services) affect their lives. After examining the findings, I will follow up with qualitative interviews to gain a deeper understanding of this issue. With a background in communication development, I plan to engage in research in the future that focuses specifically on the effects of language and communication services on families and to connect these family outcomes to child outcomes.
