Bio:

I am originally from British Columbia, Canada. Intermittently for past six years, I have researched, volunteered, or worked in East and Central Africa. I have returned to North America to get the background required to begin understanding and working with families and disability in Africa.

Education:

Master of Special Education Degree Candidate, University of Kansas, Lawrence, May 2010

Bachelor of Arts (International Studies, French), University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, May 2007

Interests:

My interests lie in family support, cultural understanding of disability and family, disability law and policy, and African Studies. I will focus my Masters and PhD research on family quality of life in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

My work at the Beach Center involves working for Dr. Turnbull on developing online modules for service providers and working on the Community of Practice.
